Weetabix League Meeting and News

16 Jan 2018 by James Bambridge - Hawks FC

There was a full Weetabix League Meeting yesterday for all clubs which we attended. Attached below is a post the League have put on there Facebook page addressing a few issues.(see comments log below to see it)

There isn’t much really effecting us at present.

We don’t use the Central venues. Next year if our mini hawks enter a team then we will. It is mainly to do with Cancelled games by the council . There is very little the league can do about this in reality.

A large number of disciplinary cases are being heard including some Serious incidents which is not good, including some racial allegations at some clubs . behaviour at Hawks has always been spot on so we are fine.

The league and FA are doing unannounced visits to clubs games and training sessions to make sure we are compliant with all the rules and regulations especially welfare and may talk to parents.

The rules around approaching other teams players and getting players of other teams training with clubs has been tightened and will result in discipline actions against clubs if breached. Basically anyone training with us has to be a Hawks player which has always been the case.

The league 40th anniversary party is in June at Wicksteeds , details of tickets will follow but it would be nice if we got people along, they are doing some award as well where we can make nominations.

That was pretty much it.

We intend to have our usual quarterly club committee meeting this month , please let anyone on the committee know if you need anything discussed.

I am on the look out for a defender to complete our squad and cover the current players, ideally someone with a great attitude athletic, strong, fast and comfortable on the ball plus committed. That should pretty much put the finishing touches to our squad, the transfer deadline is 28th Feb to sign someone.

I called off the game on 18th Feb (half term) due to availability.

James
